Abstract

Giuseppe Nangeroni, the dean of the Italian geographers, honorary member of the Italian Glaciological Committee, teacher of geography at the Catholic University of Milan (Italy) during thirthy years, died in 1987. His importance as a specialist mostly in Physical Geography is here emphatized as well as his contribution to the development of glaciology, glacial and periglacial morphology, karst landforms and Quaternary of the Alps and of the PreAlps.
